Belle Plagne is one of ten separate smaller ski villages that together form La Plagne, which is amongst the world's biggest ski resorts. Belle Plagne is the closest to La Plagne's highest ski slopes on the Bellecote Glacier ensuring skiing is available all season. Although one of the newer ski resort developments in France, the buildings have been constructed in an attractive traditional style.

La Plagne's giant ski area is linked by the spectacular Vanoise Express double–decker cable car to neighbouring Les Arcs. The two areas offer a joint lift ticket, called "Paradiski" which is one of the world's five biggest ski areas.

Activities & Facilities at Belle Plagne

Belle Plagne has a cinema, bowling centre and a fitness centre which includes a Turkish bath, Jacuzzi, beauty salon, sauna and fitness machines. Outdoor activities include snowshoeing excursions and paragliding from the top of Roche de Mio. If you're feeling brave, "taxi–bob" rides are available down the Olympic bobsleigh run. Ice climbing, dog sledding and snow biking can also be arranged. Other facilities include a bank, grocery shops and a medical room.

With just a dozen bars and restaurants, nightlife in Belle Plagne is fairly quiet and relaxed. A free shuttle bus links to other larger La Plagne villages thus broadening the range of nightlife available. Restaurants in Belle Plagne include Cheyenne (Mexican restaurant) or the popular Matafan. The main late night bar is Le Saloon.
