Botanical Trails of Yunnan

Days 1-2 : Fly to Kunming

Fly overnight to Kunming.

Days 3-4 : UNESCO Listed Lijiang

Take a flflight to Lijiang. Visit Black Dragon Pool and explore the UNESCO listed Old Quarter. The next day visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, home to a quarter of China’s plant species.

Day 5 : Tiger Leaping Gorge

Visit dramatic Tiger Leaping Gorge. Fly to Jinghong, on the banks of the Mekong River, this area has many similarities with Southeast Asia.

Days 6-7 : Tropical Botanical Gardens

Travel to Menglun to visit the Tropical Botanical Garden and then continue to the Ganlan Basin, an area famous for its tropical flowers and butterflies. Explore Xishuangbanna Tropical Garden and see the unique Tiaowu cao, or dancing grass. Fly to Kunming.

Day 8 : Travel to Jianshui

Visit Kunming Botanical Garden and continue to Jianshui.

Days 9-10 : Yuanyang Rice Terraces

Travel to Yuanyang to explore the world famous rice terraces described in China as Land Sculpture.

Days 11-12 : Stone Forest

Journey to the Stone Forest; and explore its surreal tree-like shards the following day. Fly to Chengdu.

Days 13-14 : Wenjiang & Pandas

Visit Wenjiang, one of the four most important flower-growing centres in China. See the famous Panda Reserve and San Sheng Xiang, also known as Flower Town. Enjoy a delicious Sichuan meal.

Day 15 : Fly Chengdu to UK
