Days 1-2 : Fly to Beijing

Fly overnight to Beijing and meet our professional photographers who will share their expertise throughout the tour.

Days 3-4 : Jinshanling Great Wall

Visit the unique Temple of Heaven Park and take photos of the beautiful landscaped grounds where local people go to exercise and practice tai chi. Drive to Jinshanling, one of the most authentic, inspiring and less visited parts of the Great Wall. We will have time to get a close-up view whilst enjoying the amazing panorama. Our professional photographers will be on hand to ensure you get the very most from this once in a lifetime opportunity with artistic advice and technical tips as we take part in sunset and sunrise shoots. Overnight near the Great Wall in a local guest house. Return to Beijing stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, where we photograph the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China.

Day 5 : Fly to Xian

Fly to Xian and visit the photogenic Little Wild Goose Pagoda.

Day 6 : Terracotta Warriors

Today we will capture portraits of the intricately crafted Terracotta Warriors. We also walk along the Ancient City Walls and stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to photograph the street scenes.

Day 7 : Fly to Guilin

Fly to the beautiful city of Guilin. Visit magnificent Mt Diecai for photos across Guilin in the evening light.

Day 8 : Longji

Travel to Longji, also known as Longsheng or the Dragon’s Backbone, home to a vast region of rice terraces. Enjoy some walking and discover photographic opportunities amongst the beautiful rice terraces that cling to steep hillsides. Return to Guilin.

Day 9 : Li River Cruise

Cruise the stunning Li River to Yangshuo and focus on the breathtaking landscape of beautiful limestone hills, tranquil fishing scenes and picturesque villages.

Day 10 : Yangti Dock & Xingping

Walk to Yangti Dock for a sunrise photo shoot and then travel to the stunningly photogenic Xingping. This small town has the best views of the local countryside and we have time to experience the beautiful scenery in changing light conditions. We also see an evening display of traditional cormorant fishing.

Day 11 : Reed Flute Caves

Explore the colourful local markets and photograph the street scenes. Return to Guilin to discover the stalagmites and stalactites of Reed Flute Caves.

Day 12 : Guilin to Chengdu

Fly from Guilin to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.

Day 13 : Giant Pandas

Visit the famous Panda Conservation Centre to photograph these charismatic animals in wooded surroundings reminiscent of their natural habitat, and then to Leshan to visit the Grand Buddha, the world’s largest stone-carved Buddhist statue. We take a short boat trip to view the statue from the river, a fantastic opportunity to catch it in the afternoon light. In the evening there will be the opportunity to review our experiences with the experts.

Day 14 : Fly Chengdu to UK

Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or the following day.
