Highlights of India & Nepal

Days 1-2 : Fly to Delhi

Fly overnight to Delhi, India’s capital city.

Day 3 : Discover Delhi

Sightseeing today begins with a visit to the Red Fort and a walk through Chandni Chowk Bazaar to Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. We have a brief stop at India Gate and Parliament House. We also visit Gandhi Smriti, where Gandhi was assassinated, and Qutab Minar.

Day 4 : Fly to Udaipur

Fly to Udaipur, a city of lakes, palaces and temples. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5 : Explore Udaipur

We begin with a drive around Fateh Sagar Lake and then visit the Folk Museum, Mewar Art Gallery and Sahelion Ki Bari Garden. We also visit City Palace and wander through the local shops. In the afternoon cruise on Lake Pichola.

Day 6 : Jodhpur

Drive to Ranakpur to visit the largest Jain Temple complex in India, built in the 15th Century. Continue to Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City.

Day 7 : Mehrangarh Fort

Visit Mehrangarh Fort and the museum located in the Umaid Bhawan Palace. We also experience a tuk tuk ride and then walk through Sabji Mandi, a local vegetable and spice market.

Day 8 : Jaipur

We travel to Jaipur and visit the lively local bazaar in Choti Choper.

Day 9 : Hawa Mahal & Amber Fort

Visit Hawa Mahal, Palace of the Winds, Amber Fort, City Palace and Jantar Mantar observatory, then enjoy a traditional dinner and dance performance in the evening.

Days 10-11 : Ranthambore or Bharatpur

Depending on the season, the next three days operate different itineraries to ensure the best National Park experience: Jan to May: Travel by train to Ranthambore National Park and enjoy a canter safari in the park this afternoon. The next day, take morning and afternoon canter safaris through the park. Sept to Dec: Drive to Bharatpur. The next day, visit Keoladeo National Park, famous for fantastic bird watching. Later, return to Bharatpur.

Day 12 : Agra

Jan to May: Travel by train to Bharatpur and then continue by road to Agra, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri ghost city, built in 1569 by Emperor Akbar. Sept to Dec: A day at leisure with a short drive to Agra and time to explore the city.

Day 13 : Taj Mahal

We rise early to view the impressive Taj Mahal in all its glory at sunrise. We also stop at a traditional marble workshop and visit Agra Fort.

Day 14 : Train to Khajuraho

Travel by Shatabdi Express to Jhansi and then continue by road to Khajuraho, stopping at Orchha. Enjoy a cultural dancing show in the evening.

Day 15 : Ghats of Varanasi

Tour the Khajuraho Temples before flying to Varanasi. Enjoy a rickshaw ride to the Ghats of the River Ganges to witness the Puja Ceremony of Ganga Aarti in the evening.

Day 16 : Boat Ride on the Ganges

We rise early to enjoy a boat ride along the River Ganges to view the Ghats at sunrise which are abuzz with activity, followed by a city tour. We also visit the Buddhist sites at Sarnath which date back to the 3rd Century, believed to be the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon.

Day 17 : Fly to Delhi

Fly from Varanasi to Delhi and stay overnight.

Day 18 : Fly Delhi to UK

Fly to the UK, arriving home later the same or following day.
