Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & The Mekong

Day 1 London
Begin with Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for your scheduled Cathay Pacific or another leading airline overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and meet your Uniworld representative on arrival and transfer to your hotel for the next two nights.

Day 3 Ho Chi Minh City
Included Excursions: Cu Chi Tunnels, rubber plantation and Ho Chi Minh city tour.
The Cu Chi Tunnels are an astonishing system of underground passageways used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. You will get to learn about the tunnels’ history and meet a Viet Cong veteran. You will then visit a rubber plantation before returning to Ho Chi Minh City for a panoramic city tour. Enjoy a special welcome dinner in a local restaurant this evening.

Day 4 Ho Chi Minh City, My Tho, Cai Be
Included Excursions: Cai Be sampan cruise, An Kiet House and local rice paper and candy making establishment.
This morning you will head to My Tho where you will embark the River Saigon. Enjoy a few hours of scenic sailing before embarking on a luxurious sampan cruise through Cai Be for a tour of the historic An Kiet House – a former imperial residence with beautiful gardens. Visit a local establishment that makes everything from rice paper to coconut candy. Return to the ship for a welcome reception and Vietnamese Theme Dinner.

Day 5 Sa Dec, Cu Lao Gien
Included Excursions: Sa Dec Canal Cruise, brick and rice processing factories, Mr. Huyn Thuy Le house and Cu Lao Gien Cathedral
Today’s sampan cruise through Sa Dec’s narrow canals is the perfect opportunity to observe locals going about their daily routines. Visit a local brick and tile factory as well as learn how rice husks are used to fuel the brick factory’s kilns. Continue to sail past bustling markets into the centre of town for a tour of the former home of Mr. Huyn Thuy Le made famous by its connections to French novelist Marguerite Duras. This afternoon sail to the island of Cu Lao Gien to visit one of the oldest cathedrals in Southern Vietnam.

Day 6 Chau Doc, border crossing into Cambodia
Included Excursions: Chau Doc Harbour cruise, fish farm and Holy Temples at base of Sam Mountain
Today you will be immersed in local life on Chau Doc Harbour, full of traditional Vietnamese floating markets and homes. Visit a floating fish farm, learn about this important industry and feed the thousands of fish. You will then be taken to visit the base of Sam Mountain – one of the holiest sites in Southern Vietnam.

Day 7 Phnom Penh
Included Excursions: Choeung Ek Memorial Stupa and grounds, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Phnom Penh city tour.
Visit the orchards and fields surrounding Choeung Ek and learn about the violent reign of the Khmer Rouge that took place here, resulting in this area being known as the ‘Killing Fields’. Then visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former torture and interrogation centre.
This afternoon take a cycle rickshaw tour of Phnom Penh’s wide boulevards and French-infused architecture and see the Royal Palace Grounds, Silver Pagoda and tour the National Museum.

Day 8 Kampong Chhnang
Included Excursions: Tonlé Sap river cruise and Kampong Chhnang walking tour
Cruise the Tonlé Sap River to the city of Kampong Chhnang where you will see the bustling riverfront community during a walking tour. Enjoy a sunset cruise onboard River Saigon this evening as you return to the Mekong River.

Day 9 Chong Koh, Angkor Ban
Included Excursions: Chong Koh and Angkor Ban walking tours
Chong Koh is a small village famous along the Mekong for its silk and cotton weaving and as you walk along the village’s main road you will see looms under nearly every home. Enjoy a visit to a local school and villager’s house before you sail to the very rural village of Angkor Ban. Enjoy a walking tour of this
charming horse-and-cart hamlet, visiting traditional Khmer homes and talking with monks at the local Buddhist monastery.

Day 10 Wat Hanchey, Kampong Cham
Included Excursions: Wat Hanchey Temple Complex, Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey Monastery and Nokor Bachey Temple
Today you will visit Wat Hanchey, where you can admire the incredible views overlooking the Mekong River from this beautifully situated temple complex. You will then visit the twin holy hilltops of Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey (Man Hill and Woman Hill) before descending to the base of the hills to view the massive gilded statues of Buddha. Finally, travel to Nokor Bachey Temple and admire the intricate wall carvings and ancient Buddha statues. Enjoy a Royal Cambodian Theme Dinner this evening.

Day 11 Kampong Cham, Siem Reap
Included Excursions: Siem Reap city tour via tuk-tuk
Disembark River Saigon this morning and transfer to Siem Reap. After settling in to your hotel, travel by tuk-tuk for a tour of the city. Enjoy free time before seeing a traditional Apsara dance show with dinner.

Day 12 -13 Siem Reap
Included Excursion: Angkor Wat Temple Complex
Optional Excursion: Dinner and live entertainment at a French-Indonesian restaurant
You will spend two whole days dedicated to exploring the incredible Angkor Wat Temple Complex, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Angkor Wat, the most recognisable landmark in Cambodia. You will also see the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the pyramidtemple of Bayon, the Baphuon Temple, the grand Terrace of Elephants, the ‘jungle temple’ of Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei, considered by many experts to be the pinnacle of artistic achievement at Angkor.

Day 14 Siem Reap, Hanoi
Fly from Siem Reap to Hanoi today and on arrival check in to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure in Vietnam’s charming capital city.

Day 15 Hanoi
Included Excursions: Hanoi city tour, Ho Chi Minh City Mausoleum, Colonial Hanoi cycle tour and Hanoi Hilton
Spend the morning visiting Hanoi’s most famous historical and cultural sites including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – a holy place for many Vietnamese and the famous One Pillar Pagoda. Take a ride on a cycle rickshaw for a tour of the colonial area of Hanoi and enjoy the city’s elegant tree-lined boulevards
and weathered colonial buildings. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 16 Depart Hanoi
Transfer to the airport at Hanoi for your return overnight flight home with Cathay Pacific or another leading airline.

Day 17 Arrive London
Arrive at London Heathrow or Gatwick where our staff will meet you and our transport will transfer you to your own front door.
