Western Splendour Parklands and Canyons

Day 1 London – Seattle
We begin with the Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service ® to London Heathrow Airport and your scheduled direct British Airways flight to Seattle. On arrival our coach will transfer you to the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Day 2 Olympic National Park
This morning we depart south for Olympic National Park where we are introduced to the snowcapped pinnacles and the magnificent peak of Mount Olympus known as ‘home of the gods’. Later today we return to Seattle where we make a brief orientation tour before returning to our hotel.

Day 3 Seattle
A free day to sample the many shops, restaurants and attractions of Seattle. Time to explore the National Historic District of Pioneer Square and the beautiful waterfront area linked by Seattle’s colourful trolleys.

Day 4 Mt. Rainier National Park – Spokane
An early departure for the mountainous wilderness magnificent Mt. Rainier National Park. In the centre stands the solitary giant peak of Mt. Rainier itself which was formed by a combination of glacial and volcanic activity. We continue east across the state of Washington to the city of Spokane and the Red Lion River Inn.

Day 5 Spokane – Kalispell
Today we travel eastwards into the state of Idaho and make a brief visit to the Old Mission State Park. This small park houses the Old Cataldo Mission, Idaho’s oldest standing building constructed in 1853. We continue on into the fourth largest state in the United States, Montana. Called the ‘land of the shining mountains’ by the Indians, Montana attracted many white settlers in the 19th century due to its vast mineral wealth. Later in the day we arrive at Kalispell and the Red Lion Hotel.

Day 6 Glacier National Park – Great Falls
To the stunning Glacier National Park, set in a rugged section of the northern Rockies with one million acres of spectacular scenery including hundreds of lakes and waterfalls. Time to enjoy the majestic views before we head for Great Falls and your hotel the Holiday Inn.

Day 7 Great Falls – Yellowstone National Park
Today we travel to what most claim to be the world’s most famous natural preserve, America’s first National Park, Yellowstone. We continue to West Yellowstone and your hotel the Yellowstone Park for two nights.

Day 8 Yellowstone National Park
A whole day’s tour of this wonderland of wildlife and wilderness. You will be introduced to the thermal features of the area including the roaring geysers shooting thousands of gallons of scalding water into the air, beautiful mountains and cascading waterfalls.

Day 9 Grand Teton National Park – Jackson Hole
To the Grand Teton National Park, 310,000 acres of spectacular scenery which includes the Teton range renowned for their tranquil majesty and which rise abruptly without foothills from the peaceful flat valley of Jackson Hole. This charming town contains numerous shops, bars and restaurants and offers a friendly welcome. Our hotel is the 49er Inn.

Day 10 Jackson Hole – Salt Lake City
Today we depart for Fossil Butte National Monument to view the fascinating collection of ancient fossils of Fossil Lake. Many species of fish, insects and plant life are perfectly preserved in rock layers made up of limestone, mudstone and volcanic ash. We continue our journey southwards into Utah to Salt Lake City, headquarters of the Mormon Church, where we make a brief orientation tour, before arriving at our hotel, the Red Lion.

Day 11 Salt Lake City
Today is free to explore at leisure. Mormon pioneers settled here over 150 years ago and today it is a thriving and bustling city which has much to offer.

Day 12 Canyonlands National Park – Arches National Park – Moab
Today experience the incredible beauty of Canyonlands National Park. The Green and Colorado Rivers have sliced their way through the park forming diverse sections of huge red rock pinnacles and towering spires to create a rugged and varied landscape. We continue across Utah to the 73,000 acre Arches National Park which encompasses over 1,700 natural stone arches. We overnight at Moab, a short distance from the park and the Best Western or Ramada.

Day 13 Mesa Verde National Park
Departing south we enter the state of Colorado and Mesa Verde National Park. For over 700 years communities flourished and later built their sheltered caves, now known as cliff dwellings and these archaeological sites are some of the most important in America today. We overnight at the Far View Lodge, located in the park itself.

Day 14 Four Corners – Monument Valley
We depart for Four Corners, the intersection of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, the only place in America where the borders of four American states converge. We now continue into the 27,000 square mile Navajo reservation and enter Monument Valley with its spectacular and unmistakable pillars. On arrival we take a tour of these beautiful sandstone formations with our knowledgeable Native American guide. This evening we stay in Monument Valley, at Gouldings Lodge.

Day 15 Canyon De Chelly, National Monument
For nearly two thousand years Canyon De Chelly has been home to the Ancient Puebloans, the Hopi and the Navajo people. Their homes, now ruined, were built into the base of the canyon walls themselves and our routing along the top of the canyon enables us to view them from spectacular vantage points, up to 1,000 feet above. Later we return to our hotel at Monument Valley for yet another spectacular sunset.

Day 16 Grand Canyon National Park
We depart the monoliths of Monument Valley for the unrivalled awe of the Grand Canyon. A variety of views are obtained before we arrive at the South Rim visitors centre where you have free to time to explore and absorb the most famous vista of this world wonder. After our day of stunning scenery we transfer to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel located in nearby Williams.

Day 17 Grand Canyon – Las Vegas
The chance of a breathtaking flight over the Grand Canyon this morning before we travel into the state of Nevada to the inimitable and glittering city of Las Vegas. We take an orientation tour before arriving at the Flamingo Hotel.

Day 18 Las Vegas
A free day to savour the glitz and glamour of a city which, like New York, never sleeps. A vast array of entertainment is available and for those seeking total relaxation you can relax by the poolside of your hotel.

Day 19 Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs
This morning we head south into Joshua Tree National Park. Here we discover the oddly shaped trees with outstretched branches and the wilderness of fantastic granite formations. We continue into California and the resort city of Palm Springs. Our hotel is the Hyatt Regency Suites.

Day 20 Palm Springs
Today we take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for a spectacular ride, ascending 8,516 feet for stunning views of Palm Springs and the surrounding area from Mt. San Jacinto. The rest of the day is free to explore at leisure.

Day 21 Los Angeles – In flight
Today we depart for Los Angeles for our direct British Airways flight to London Heathrow.

Day 22 London
Arrival at London Heathrow Airport where our staff will greet you and transfer you to Titan transport for your journey home to your own front door.
